It was a rather dark and cloudy night.
A little gnome was on his way home; he had gathered herbs all day and had forgotten about the time and now the sudden sunset had surprised him.
He was usually a very calm little fellow but he couldn't ignore the matter of fact that the darkness actually made him anxious; who know what was lurking in the dark? There could be bears... or maybe wolfs... or maybe even a troll! And none of them would think twice before gulping him up! What if he met a goblin? It sure would bring him back to its camp where they maybe would torture him... and then eat him. Of course.
The little gnome nervously started to walk faster... then he heard something... wasn't there... something in those bushes looking at him ?
He started to run. It was now too late for him, he wouldn't get away alive; why, oh why, didn't I go home earlier?
He rushed over fallen trees and old moss-covered rocks while he repeatedly stumbled upon his long beard. Suddenly he reached a little door placed at the bottom of a big tree; he was home. The gnome looked around while heavily panting. It was nothing there. Maybe... maybe never even had been followed?
But he entered the door a little bit quicker then usual and locked it in a haste; ones could never be too sure after all.

I have no particular comment.
I just like this one C:
Awwwwww, he's really a cute little guy...he'd probably kick me for calling him that lol...you're very talented. I am forever in awe of people who can just pick up various traditional tools and create...I get too frustrated...so turned to digital work.

This one really sums some of the Swedish traditions up really well! He could very well have stepped right out of a book! It's exactly the way I'd imagined a gnome! Brilliant as usual!

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
