Finally some more orc and goblin <<
It's ironic, I doodle these species all the time but rarely finish anything :c
I know there's faults going on, but I think it's charming to keep the digitalized version the same as the one on paper ^^
I just tossed on my signature though... I couldn't see one! So there might be two on it now x.X

A A4 and 0.05 point ink pen!
The orc isn't skinny but has a face paint. A bit cliché yes, but I like it and there's a long story behind it (as if that would justify it...).

The rest of this text is a short, short explanation to things, so you maybe should stop reading right now if that kind of things doesn't interest you ;3

Two of my old but still active characters... the sad thing is that the orc still doesn't have a name. Well, he does have a name, but I'm utterly displeased with it so I shall not let you know it!
The tiny thing on his back... that's Uzag ;)

The tribe these two belong to is very disgruntled and it's mainly divided between two strong forces, the shamans and the warriors. Nevertheless, even if these two parties are pretty spiteful with the other, it's nothing compared to the backstabbing within the two groups!
The orc here is the leader for the shamans, and one of the keys to his success is this little goblin ally of his. It may look like it at first, but it's not the classic big-stupid with tiny-smart. The orc is intelligent and do most of the thinking, but Uzag is smart, being able gve feedback and point out flaws with plans. But most of all, she's excellent at such things as spying and this makes the orc able to obtain information that keeps him far ahead of his rivals.

And as a side note, a shaman to me is someone who has great knowledge about nature, not casting spells and stuff. In these orcs case, they are the ones who do the long time planning and are able to foretell things as storms and if winter are approaching... things that can be useful for a nomad living tribe like theirs.

This orc character is not to be confused with his warrior counterpart... I rarely give her this face paint any longer, but old images may still come up;

Very nice indeed. I love your greenskins. :+fav:

Also, I've always wondered how to see the difference between a male and female greenskin.
:iconuzag:
Thanks! :)
I'll send you a note about it for now, but I intend to post an illustration with a "short" description later on about their biology.
:iconidiocon:
Oh dear, all the details in this! *mind BLOWN* This is absolutely stunning in every way, I just can't get over it. o.o;; I'm absolutely in love with the aggressive pose and facial expression on the orc in comparison with the relatively calm look on Uzag; it's a great contrast between wearing your emotions on your sleeves and not knowing what someone is thinking! In fact I think there's a lot of fantastic contrast in this picture, between their sizes, their manner of dress (Uzag in very simple robes and the orc in many decorative accessories), the violent nature of the orc's item of choice and Uzag's backpack full of scrolls, etc. It's really just completely fantastic, it feels like you put so much thought into this piece! And all of the varying textures you're able to achieve with mostly cross-hatching is just unbelievable; the folds on the orc's clothes, for example, flow beautifully and I cannot stop staring at them. ;o;

I'm not sure if my extremely rambling was able to convey it, but I absolutely love this picture. xD And I would love love love to hear more about the orc's and Uzag's story, I am very much liking the spin on the old brawny-big-guy-smart-tiny-guy cliche. 8D

Thank you Idiocon!
I'm happy you like this picture and picked up many of its little quirks!
I hope to get more pictures of these two completed in the future... I'm always a bit unsure how much information I should add about the concept and the ones the picture features in the description... I usually feel that none ever read it and I get very discouraged. Now I know some do read them though ^_^
:iconidiocon:
You're welcome!

And I know exactly what you mean, I also have a tendency to be embarassed by the things I write. I might go into extreme detail about the character and story in the description at first, but I'll always come back like an hour later and change it to something silly (like what most of my descriptions are now). BUT WITH YOU, I don't think you should get discouraged as all, since I love reading what you write <3 Your skeiths' petpages are pretty much the only ones I've ever read through entirely!
:iconuzag:
I encourage you to add long descriptions too! When I find art I enjoy, I really like to read about it. Not only about what on it but some of the artists thoughts and so as well.
:iconneonstardust:
BLur~ you make your orcs so scary! My Mother was very cunfused then switch on me to "what was that anyways!?"
